I am trying to help an elderly neighbour who has an Iphone4. I am not an Apple user, but, nonetheless, I thought I would be able to hook up to a WIFI connection! This phone had previously been working on his wifi.

I tap on the wifi SSID I want, it tries to connect, then pops up an error saying it can't connect with the only button available being Dismiss. I was expecting it to ask for a password but that was too much to expect. Logic, and a tutorial, showed this is what it is supposed to do so don't know where to go from here.

I tried another route using the "Other" option. I got to where it asked what security setting I wanted then just sat at that screen doing nothing.

Any ideas on what we can do to fix this frustrating situation?

I would suggest tapping on the "i" in a circle next to the SSID and then "Forget This Network" and then try again.
