I love music and my phone is a major part of my listening experience. My Sennheiser wired buds are almost permanently in the phone. I have Jaybird bluetooth buds for the gym, but they can't compete for sound or simplicity with my wired buds.

I know Apple will bundle a lightning to 3.5mm adapter - but it's finicky, messy, and likely to be lost. Not to mention the lightning connector doesn't 'grab' as tight as the audio jack, so is likely to constantly pull out.

Maybe in a few years I'll have no choice about an audio jack, but at the moment I wouldn't contemplate buying an iPhone 7.

So, for you who will be buying, how do you feel about it? Will it cost Apple sales?

I'll probably end up buying it still. The other features outweigh the minimal inconvenience of the removed headphone jack. All the people complaining it's going to be the end all of apple will probably never buy an iPhone anyway tbh. It's not a big deal.

Apple bashing, it is really tall poppy syndrome.

Apple have found a way to make more money... WOW how dare they.

There seems to be a lot of people who are justifying not buying an iPhone that were never going to buy one anyway.

I LIKE Apple. I have had several iPhone models, currently a 5S, and am in the market for an upgrade. But they're not perfect and do make mistakes, it's yet to be seen if this is one, but it either way it is a dealbreaker for many like me.

If Apple announced the iPhone 8 had a battery which lasted a week under constant use and a month while idle, would anyone complain? Imagine all those cables you would be able to pack away for occasional use
