Hi there
Im trying to get an Ipad working : its locked out

Theres an activation lock , owner is not certain of apple ID, password etc (he didnt set it all up)
I can guess the apple ID login name , it gives me the 1st & last letters of the email adress .

but now that apple ID a/c is also locked out .
Login to appleid.apple.com & the apple a/c is locked , security question doesnt work (someone put in the wrong answer when setting up) ,
cant send reset email as that email adress is no longer active (his old work email, they dont want to reactivate that email to help out )

is there any hope, or is this ipad effectively now just a brick ?

Just an update, I managed to get access via the original email , had to have apple ID reset/re-enable sent to that email

Now that I have access to that apple a/c (finally)  , it turns out there was a 2nd email adress in that a/c: a 2nd recovery email (a gmail adress)

at no point in this process was I ever given the option to use that 2nd email to recover password or reset/re-enable this apple ID a/c . That would have made all
this very quick & easy
just why ?? , surely any sane person designing all this would have given that 2nd email as a recovery option when I was having trouble getting into the IPAD

it was only a lucky fluke that the main email adress was still active (that email was only thought to have been closed a year ago, but was still active)
