I’d never bothered with Apple Pay, but just set it up as contactless payment at the supermarket now seems like a pretty good idea.

But do you still need to enter a pin on the EFTPOS terminal for purchases over $80 even when using Apple Pay?

Nate001:

Yes still need to enter pin. Shop light and keep it under $80

Oddly I can use apple pay at Z self serve and fill up over $80 without pin which I've always found strange.

Merchants can opt to waive the PIN requirement for device such as Apple Pay or Google Pay.
