I see this has been released now. Any comments (positive or negative) from those that have applied the update?

I haven't noticed any changes good or bad yet.

Sadly I still can't get the iPhone and iPad talking to each other via Bluetooth and although the two devices see each other they just won't connect now. :( Still get the spinning icon. Oh well, maybe the next update?

As an edit, still can't get Hotspot working although it used to with iOS5.

This update apparently ONLY fixes that the updater won't work OTA. Which for us in NZ, with our horrendously limited data plans, is probably the preferable situation to be honest (FYI if you've noticed increased data usage with iOS 6, take note that they increased the maximum size an app will update without a Wifi network to 100MB).

It fixes more than that; the official lists are here and here.

I guess that would explain why an update was required to install an update then.

Well, so far so good. When applying the update it certainly lists a number of bug fixes, not just the OTA issue

I have an iPhone 4S and iPad 2 and find that Wifi takes 5-30s to come on when you turn the screen back on. The result is that if I try Siri on the 4S (only using Wifi, not mobile data) it says 'Siri not available. Connect to the Internet'. If I swipe to unlock and wait a few seconds the wifi comes back on and Siri can be used. Similarly with the iPad if I swipe to unlock and immediately try to do something online, I can't connect, but after some seconds, the wifi icon will automatically appear and then I can go online. Neither of these issues happened before ios6.01.
Can see that you can now hold your thumb on the side of the screen, and it won't be recognized as a touch (which was necessary for iPad Mini).

Regardless of performance improvements and bug fixes, there are security updates included in the package so whoever has a device capable of installing this update should probably do so.

Anyone affected by a possible streaming bug in iOS 6 that caused a 30 MB stream to chew through 100 MB?

It seems it's been fixed in iOS 6.01, but some report still happening.
