Today I got a notification of updated carrier settings when I synced my phone with iTunes. Anyone know whats in these updated settings or what changes were made? Now at version 13.1. Had a search on the net and found nothing.

This was just some minor tweaks to OTA update settings by Apple. More about carrier files here (if required)  http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1970,

I synched my phone this morning and didn't get an update; still at "Telecom NZ 12.0" here. Everything seems to work though :)

Hmm... I'm still on 11.1 with an iPhone 4. I'll sync later on and see what happens. Not sure whether it would affect things, but I haven't updated iTunes lately...

Cheers,
Mike

Or you can go to Settings, general, About. You should be prompted to download the update over 3G or wifi.

No update prompt here on my 4S. I wonder whether it needs iOS 6 (I'm on 5.1.1).

I've got iOS 6.01 and iTunes 11.

Thanks for the reply andyb. So nothing carrier specific. Thats more what I was getting at.

I got an onscreen alert on my iPhone 5 the other day telling me that carrier settings update was available and to press OK to continue. I am with Telecom.

I pressed OK and everything still seemed to continue on as normal. Not sure what updates were made, but it didn't involve iTunes at all.

In my settings, it now says Carrier: Telecom NZ 13.1
