I got my phone wet but more importantly i need the data from it (mainly the videos i took). Iv recovered files from a Itunes Data Back Up but i need to access the files that are on my phone that werent saved or synced to my PC. Iv tried wondershare and other 3rd party programmes but they all wont detect my phone because its not on. When i plug my phone into itunes it saids it needs to be 'restored' for it to be used. if i do this i will lost all the data thats on the phone. is there anyway i can access the hard drive of the phone and by pass the DFU mode.

Apple said they will give me a new 64 gb factory refurbished iphone if i send my phone back to them and give them 300NZD. however, if i take the phone apart that will void the warranty.

anyone?

If it’s in DFU mode it might not be as bad as you think.  Get it out of DFU mode by:

1. Hold down the "home" + "power" button simultaneously.
2. After 12 seconds of holding, release the home button and continue to hold the power button until the apple logo screen comes on.

you should then be able to access the phone.

We have had some success in getting data off water damaged phones but I can suggest that you take it to an expert to dry it out properly.

It's simple electrolysis water power and metal = your phones components are being eaten away with every passing second - not to mention the liquid causing a short in the board that could be causing catastrophic failure.

Upshot is you'll need to get the phone booting to get the data.

There's also a new program out, called Tenorshare iPhone Data Recovery, but at US$69.95, it's quite expensive (although you can use the free version to see if you can actually view the files - you have to buy it to actually recover).

Review of the software HERE

Wouldn't be much use if you can't access the phone though.

The iPhone is currently in recovery mode ('This iPhone needs to be restored'). You can remove it from recovery mode by using a piece of free software such as RecBoot - google for a link.

If you can't kick it out of recovery mode, your best bet is to get it cleaned by a specialist iPhone repairer but being careful not to void any Apple service eligibility requirements.

Hi,
Not sure if you've manage to sort this out but I would....
Get tinyumbrella ... http://thefirmwareumbrella.blogspot.co.nz/
Kick device out of recovery or fix recovery if in DFU mode...
Then I use copytransmanager ... http://www.copytrans.net/copytransmanager.php
Hope this helps...
