Hi Folks,

Anyone able to show tabs in Safari using ios7 on an iPad 3? I've just spend a frustrating two hours trying to get them to show up. My iPhone 5 seems to display them, but not my iPad 3. Touching the + button to create a new tab simply causes Safari to quit. The iCloud icon displays a list of my tabs but I can't remove any of them from the list.

Cheers,

David.

Works fine on mine. I have an iPad3, iOS7, tapping the + button brings up a new Tab like Chrome or IE does.

Have you tried the two button reset? Closing out any other open Apps?

No go. The two-button reset didn't fix the problem. I have a blank bar at the top of the screen where the tabs are supposed to be, but the tabs are listed in the iCloud icon.

There is an option in the settings to Open New Tabs in Background:

Selecting this option sends new links to oblivion, i.e. they open in the background but are not accessible.

Deselecting this option opens new tabs as a new window, and the previous window disappears completely.

David.

That's weird. The iCloud button is iCloud tabs, it's what's open on your other iOS/ OS X devices.

Have you tried calling Apple at all on 00800 7666 7666 or perhaps heading into an Apple Approved Repair store?

Failing all that you should try restoring using iTunes.

Hope you get your problem fixed!

Cheers, Allan.

The solution was the obvious one. Delete the data and cookies, although I was reluctant to do this in the beginning. The folks at the Apple Store in Shanghai were quick and efficient with their help. The problem may have occured by me doing a factory reset followed by restoring from a backup due to the lack of space on my iPad needed for a direct upgrade to ios7. The direct upgrade to my iPhone was problem free by comparison.

Cheers,

David.
