Hi all

I haven't been able to find the relevant up to date info I am after.

We have several ipads that we need to be able to text and call from. Skype doesn't work as Telecom will not accept text messages from Skype.

Are their any Apps anyone knows of that would allow us to text and call (Or just text as we can use Skype for calls)? I can only find ones that allow Texting and Calling within the US using Google Talk.

Thanks

EDIT: I need to contact all NZ mobiles (Including those with no data) and land lines

Sorry. I should of specified that I need to contact all NZ mobiles (Including those with no data) and land lines. I believe IMessage and facetime only work with IOS devices that have a data connection.

Ah. Well, Skype is the only one I know of that has a chance. The other VoIP ones I know of such as Viber also only work within their own happy communities. I believe you can get real SMS to work if you jailbreak it. Not sure about voice, although I can't see it couldn't work: the hardware itself is perfectly capable.

Looks like we will be buying 8 cell phones to go with the 8 Ipads. Thanks for you help everyone. It is much appreciated. I would have wasted a tonne more time trying to figure this out otherwise.

What about this?

http://www.voipbuster.com/en/mobile_voip

I have not try texting it to my telecom account

edit:

I used the android app and texted a phone on telecom - it works perfectly fine.

I have been voipbuster subscriber for almost 7-8 years.
