Sadly, the home button on my beloved iPhone 5s 32GB has become temperamental, and only works if i push really hard or at a certain angle.

What's the best way to get the phone repaired or replaced? It's under warranty until mid November. Years ago when I had an issue with my 4 I took it into YOOBEE (Then MagnumMac), and it was sent away for a week, and replaced with a brand new one.

I've been through numerous Lightning Cables with the warranty, and neither YOOBEE or Spark (Where phone was bought from) would have anything to do with it, so I had to have one mailed to me by Apple. The only issue is that I'm only 15, and asking my parents for permission to have a $30 hold on their credit card was hard enough, let alone $1000 if I had a replacement iPhone mailed to me.

I could take the phone into YOOBEE, but their staff are always impolite, and I don't want to go without my phone for too long.

What are my options for warranty service? I just wish Apple would open their own stores here, but isn't there some reason why they can't, with YOOBEE's parent company Renaissance having some exclusive deal?

If they don't freight forward the phone then they don't put a hold on your CC. You just end up being with out a phone for a few days.

This. Apple can send out a box for you to return the old phone, they send out the new one once they have the old one back.

EDIT: Having said that, assuming it is for personal use and you bought it in NZ, then the retailer has obligations under the CGA to facilitate repair as well...

Hmm, I may just have to do this then. The phone was bought from Spark, and then I bought it from someone on Trade Me 2 months later, so I'm not sure if the CGA will apply in this case, as I don't have the original receipt.

You'll find it hard to enforce CGA with no receipt. Call Apple direct

Go to your closest Apple Authorised Service Provider as Apple have just recently changed the way they do iPhone repairs.
On the apple website it will tell who your closest AASP is that can service iPhones.

On the apple website it will tell who your closest AASP is that can service iPhones.

All the search options on Apple's 'Find Locations' page show no results and say go to the carrier. I live in Hamilton, but I will be in Auckland CBD all day tomorrow. Would the large YOOBEE store in Newmarket be able to do an on-site repair? Is this what you mean when you say Apple have changed the way they do iPhone repairs? If I can't find anything online tonight I'll go into the Newmarket YOOBEE, because I'll be there tomorrow, and see what they can do. Thanks everyone

In the past all iPhone warranty repairs had to be sent in to Apple but now AASPs can repair or replace them IF they have the appropriate certified tech on staff, and most probably do but Apple probably haven't updated their website yet to reflect this.
As above easiest will be to call Apple direct.

I think I would find it easier to spend $85 and get it repaired in an hour. There are various places that can do it.

My wife's 5s had a few issues and I called Apple directly and they sent me a replacement first under Express replacement. Also sent me a box to send the other one back and put a hold on the card until the got the faulty one back. Her phone was purchased from Spark too.

If it was registered through iTunes at the time of initial set up. Secondly it is a 5s so highly likely it was bought in the last 12 months and 5s was released in New Zealand late October last year. Thirdly apple still looks after customers even if it is over 12 months as per their website.

Just remember that if it's repaired by a local repairer then the touch sensor will not work again - ever.

You're best to go to apple - just give them a call on the 00800 number mentioned above.
