Despite being an Apple person, this one is struggling to convince me of it's purpose.
How about y'all?

KiwiNZ: Nope, I like a watch I don't need to turn on to see the time the battery is still good after 4 years.
PoHq: Same here. Not a chance I'm paying 600 bucks (minimum) for a watch that can't go a day. Ridiculous.
The 18 hours quoted is from the maker which is usually inflated or absolute best case scenario. So day to day I'd say you'll be lucky to get a half day out of it.
My views (except when I am looking out their windows) are not those of my employer.
frankv: I think I could probably live with a 24-hour battery life... it would just be a matter of routine to put the watch on the charger overnight. But 18 hours is ridiculous... it's not inconceivable to have a long day from say 6am to after midnight.
Equally ridiculous are the prices.... $500+ for the basic model when a Pebble Time is about half that.
Not to mention that the Pebble has a couple of years history and development, whereas the Apple one will be buggy.
And finally (and not least), I don't want a watch which would lock me into the Apple hegemony. It will apparently only talk to iPhone.
Hopefully it will crash like a lead balloon. More likely, the iWatch 2 will already be in development, and will turn out to be a practical proposition. But I wouldn't buy one of those either. I'm more than happy to leave it to the Apple zealots.
We should be thanking Apple for launching the $10,000 "apple watch" as the new gold standard in douchebag detection.
