Hi guys, has anyone installed the newly released iOS 8.3 and tried out the NZ language version of Siri?

I think the male voice sounds pretty accurate, but.... the female voice is just the old Aussie voice! I hope they're not trying to pull a fast one over us!

It does indeed seem to be the Aussie voice. I actually logged an enhancement request with Apple to be able to change it (the Aussie one is painful!), but it seems that this didn't make it into the final release :(

The voice and location really need to be decoupled as it's useless for travelling as it is now (if I was to go to, say, Germany, then it'd insist on speaking to me in German!)

I just want them to fix iTunes syncing so I can have the music I want on my iPad. That's it, Apple: if you do nothing else for the next 6 months, fix iTunes syncing. Surely it can't be that hard. It worked perfectly in the olden days. :-(

iPad Pro 11" + iPhone 15 Pro Max + 2degrees 4tw!

Probably a new thread?  I am confused as to why you think this is broken, works perfectly fine for us across our multiple devices.

On topic...I wasn't aware this update was out, will check it out.  Looks like a BIG list of changes.  Thanks

Six words: "Waiting for changes to be applied". The bane of my existence!

That and just not copying a bunch of stuff, if and when you do get lucky enough to get past 'Waiting for changes to be applied.' I have 7 Smashing Pumpkins albums. Only 1 - which was purchased on the iPad itself - was copied by iTunes when I was last dumb enough to try syncing it several months ago. But last week I thought, damnit Salty, why shouldn't you be able to listen to Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness on your iPad at work? So I plugged it in, and not only did it not copy the other Smashing Pumpkins albums, but it did decide to remove all the Nine Inch Nails albums, despite, NiN being ticked as to be synced to the device.

So then I bit the bullet and upgraded to the version of iTunes and iOS it had been bugging me about. Now I have all my Smashing Pumpkins and Nine Inch Nails albums on the iPad, if by 'album' you mean 'a random 4 songs out of each album'.

In other words, after three nights and upwards of 10 hours of screwing around, I have less on there now than when I started. And the final attempt last night sat on 'Waiting for changes to be applied' for 15 minutes before I finally gave up and went to bed.

Seriously. It's not that hard. Just copy a bunch of music files from the computer to the iPad. That's like, computer functionality from 1959. Or, and here's a wild idea - just show the device as a disk with a folder called 'Music' and I'll sort it out myself, if you can't do it.

I've never been able to get wifi sync working reliably.

My devices appear in itunes, but when i try to sync they just drop out.   At random times on the odd occasion it sometimes works but no idea why.

I have tried simply everything including obscure solutions which someone on the forum said worked for them.

Wow, that's a pain.  We have 4 devices on the same account (set up before family sharing), and probably easily over 10 different Apple devices in recent years.  Each person has their own playlist of songs in iTunes to sync to their respective device, and iTunes is just set up to sync just that persons playlist.  I can certainly recall the odd song here and there not working requiring a second sync, but nothing at all like you are experiencing.  Device or computer fault?  My main gripe is that iTunes always fails on updating on Win7, requiring a complete re install.

On topic, yeah I am not to sure about the new Siri voices for NZ.  Will give it a try over the new few days and see how accurate it is.  Otherwise not spotting any significant changes at first glance

Does this mean that Siri will now be able to provide location information in NZ?

@SaltyNZ Check out iTunes Match. $39.99 a year, moves all your music to the cloud. Will compare what you have with the iTunes catalog, replacing any lower def versions with higher def. Anything it doesn't recognise at all it takes a copy of. All your music appears on all your devices but you only download what you want for listening off line, the rest will stream. Frees up a ton of space, never lose a song\album again, and no more iTunes syncing... ever! Been using it for 2-3 years now, love it. https://www.apple.com/nz/itunes/itunes-match/
