I have put together a small tutorial and some files to change the ".com" in safari on your iPhone to ".co.nz" or "com.au"

NOTE: This only works on iPhone's on version 1.1.2 or 1.1.3 - This means NO iPod Touch and no iPhone with firmware version 1.1.1 or lower.

I am by no means an expert. This was created with trial and error, Myself, Linka New Zealand Limited or ModMyiFone.com will NOT be held responsible if you brick your iPhone during this mod.

Please click here:Iphone New Zealand and Australian Keyboard Hack

Now before you comment on the fact that you have to register to view the tutorial see below:

I am unable to make downloads available to members only so I have made the tutorial available to members only (which contains the downloads). I have done this to stop a high server load causing the site to go down.

Registering takes all of a minute of your time. Figuring out how to do this took me a lot longer. I have no problem if you don't want to register, you just don't get access to the files. You can always do it yourself, but it would be quicker to register.

Cheers

Good work NZBullet - I have been playing with ibloggin.com which is a iPhone optimised blogsite which you can email entries to from your iPhone.  I have set one up www.igeek.ibloggin.com where I have added a few fixes and quirks of using iPhones in NZ - mainly v1.1.1 phones, however I will expand it to 1.1.2 when I get the balls to go the upgrade!

Let me know if you have any others worthy of publishing.
cheers

Don't ask for a lighter load, rather a stronger back.

Thanks,

Nice - like the site. I assume you know the one about changing the Phone formats? ie (03)123-4567 instead of 031-234-567. It can also be done in 1.1.2, infact I don't think it changes if you have done it on 1.1.1 - atleast I don't remember changing it again when I updated??

It took me about 7 hours to update to 1.1.2, a lot of coffee and a few nerves and grey hairs. There's not a lot going for the update but I have noticed a slight increase in the speed/smoothness.

Thanks Mauricio,

I have updated the files and you can now download the latest versions of the files for firmware 1.1.3 from the same page as before. This is for NZ and AU. and REMEMBER back-up your old files first!
