Hi all

I'm thinking about buying a new TV and will also need a new Apple TV.

How does the app position work? Am I likely to need the 64GB version over the 32 GB version? I'm quite happy with the Apple TV 3 I have at the moment but they don't appear to sell it anymore.

I have the 64GB version, but probably could've got away with the 32 GB one.

I also have an Apple TV 3 for our upstairs telly. The ATV4 is much nicer to use.

I bought the 32GB Apple TV4 when they were first released, which was some time ago.

I've installed over 40 apps, and it's only used around 15GB. So I really can't see the need for 64GB.

Agreed with DynaMike. Unless you are big gamer and using your Apple TV to store games data, 32GB is plenty as a streaming device. Apple TV version 4 is based on iOS and Itune store. So if you are an Apple user already everything is familiar. Personally, I really like ATV with its all-in-one design inclusive of remote control, unlike Chromecast which needs your mobile/tablet for remote control. ATV is more expensive but worth the money.

+1 for 32GB. We've had ours pretty much since they were released and never had a problem with storage space.

Each app is limited to a max size of 200MB and any extra storage an app may need is only held temporarily while the user needs that data.

Can be a bit of a pain with some games, if you jump between levels a lot, as it may need to download the level data each time, and when you are on a crappy ADSL connection like we are it can take a while!

Like the others. Only 32gb here. Got mine via friendly mule from the states.

Doubt it's anywhere near full. Only fills if you have video media or games. And 90% of my content is steamed or Plex.

Ours is used every night.
