I think I have just been done in a major way

 

all my apple devices have been locked

 

I got a message saying about access on my apple account

 

I thought i was following an apple protocol to recover but it looks like i wasnt

 

Is there a 24 hour apple emargancey number

You should receive a call from Apple support straightaway.

Edit: According to this, it looks like your Apple ID/icloud has been compromised. They've put your devices into "lost mode". Are you still able to login to your iCloud?

I am scared to ask but does household contents insurance usually cover this sort of theft , if th emachines are ruined?

Unfortunately 2FA is useless with the find my iPhone/Mac/iPad feature, if you check the macrumors article

 

Bit of an oversight by Apple imo, they should ask an additional security questions in that case like your device's passcode or password for example

You would need to read your policy about that, I know some got amended a while back to remove this sort of thing from the cover.
