Got my iPhone a week or so ago and so far so good.

I have had a couple of problems with the 3G just not connecting, so I have to go into the Network settings, turn off 3G put the phone to sleep then wake it up, turn on 3G again, put it to sleep AGAIN and then it will work.

Which is a right pain.

Although today it just got alot worse. At about 4pm I was unable to view any pages over my Vodafone data connection despite my above troubleshooting.
Also when I got home and connected my my Wi-fi connection (which I have had no problem with on the iPod Touch or iPhone before) shows the little Wi-Fi icon in the status bar up the top but will not get a connection.

When I go into Network> under the VPN it says "NOT SET" is this correct?

Anyone got any ideas of what could be causing this, normally I would call Vodafone Customer services but this is after hours.

Thanks

I've noticed that the 2.0 firmware seems to have a problem with name resolution.  Eventually it stops
resolving hosts.  You can still get at things with an IP address, but DNS stops.

Rebooting the device resolves the problem for me.

I got exact problem. And extremely annoying especially I on push mail. So I just don't know if there is no mail or 3G issue. Got to VF store last weekend, and the rep changed the sim for me since my sim seemingly not working on the other phone as well.

However, the new is not solved the issue either. I have rung VF and they said somebody would  contact me within 48 hrs ... and still .. unheard. She commentted that in worst case scenario they would send the phone for repair and/or replace the phone.

I quite sure the VPN is not the cause. Fiddling 3G on/off switch could eventually solved the problem. You could try that to see if yours is the same to mine
