For historical reasons, we have an Apple ID for iTunes that isn’t used for anything else, and Apple ID as individuals which is used for devices, email etc.

Every time I do an iOS update on my phone, it tries to get me to do 2FA with the iTunes ID not the actual phone/email ID.

How do I change it to the correct ID?!

Usual suspect is if you use the secondary account for any app store purchases, perhaps it uses that account as updates technically come through app store(? At least on macos)

Next time you do an update, log out from iTunes/App stores before you do the update and see what happens when it starts up....???.
