My sister has a 2019 Macbook Pro 16 and an old QNIX QX2700 1440p Monitor she wants to connect together. The monitor takes Dual Link DVI-D Only.

I can find some adapters, but they mostly state 1080p only and information about support is pretty much non-existent, I have doubts if any of them would work.

Does anyone have experience with Mac's and these monitors who can confirm or deny the existence of an adapter with a better than reasonable chance of working?

Did some Googleing and it looks like you would have to get one of the old Apple Dual-link DVI to Display Port adapters, and a display port to USB-C adapter.

The Apple Dual-link DVI to Display Port adapter is not sold by Apple anymore. You might be able to find it though, with a little bit of luck.

There are also some docks that might allow for USB-C to Display Port, some of them (apparently) support full resolution.

Think my advice would be to look at a new monitor. Maybe a USB-C one that can work as a charger for the Macbook as well.

Here are some of the things I found:

Stackexchange: Connect Apple 30" Cinema Display to new MacBook USB-C

Macworld: Want to connect an old DVI monitor to newer Mac with USB-C? Here’s one way to do it

I use my QX2710 over displayport with one of these Dynamix C-DPAC-DVI Converters from PBTech once I upgraded my GPU to one without DVI. Works fine at the native res, 60Hz only though, no overclocking possible

Thanks for that. Her Macbook Pro 16 doesn't have a displayport. Looks like Thunderbolt 3 only?

It'll likely be a messy layered thing of a thunderbolt to displayport, then displayport to dvi-d. I got one off Aliexpress pretty cheap that works well - CABLETIME Display Port to DVI adapter Male to Female Active Displayport DP to DVI extention 1080p 3d for hdtv pc projector n108.
Make sure you pay for the active model, it's like $15. Confirmed working on my QNIX 2710 @ 1440P/60Hz.
