As I mentioned in this now closed topic: Apple IOS 14.5 Out

2 - The ••• "move options menu" next to the Shuffle icon on the Playing screen has gone. It contained:

Love
Suggest More Like This.

BUT you can do it via Siri (don't know if you could before) 'Love this song' works for me.

Just noticed a few days ago that this functionality has now returned in Apple CarPlay iOS15.1. Apple must have listened to the complaints. Not that I would use it now as I am now used to using Siri 'Love this tune'. Hands Free much safer.

Whilst the difficult we can do immediately, the impossible takes a bit longer. However, miracles you will have to wait for.

What does choosing "love this tune" do? Find more songs like it in the algorithm?

Panasonic 65GZ1000, Onkyo RZ730, Atmos 5.1.2, AppleTV 4K, Nest Mini's, PS5, PS3, MacbookPro, iPad Pro, Apple watch SE2, iPhone 15+

JPNZ:

Love or dislike songs in Music on Mac

So I have a "Loved Tunes" Smart List for these in my iMac Music App BUT (and this is important) I do not have that "Loved Tunes" Smart List on my iPhone. Reason being is that if I "love this tune" whilst using my iPhone Music app, in car or walking etc,  then the Tune will not only go into the "Loved Tunes" Smart List but will also stop playing that tune and goto the next tune in the list for the current 'Play List' that I am listening to. (?? Apple Bug)

To update my 'Loved Tunes' smart list it will only do that when it either automatically connects via my Home WiFi Network or I manually connect via cable to my iMac.

I now have 30 odd years of ripped CD's for which I have given 5 Stars rating to. I did this either manually within the iMac Music app or I used Siri; ‘Rate this song five stars‘.

As I listen to most of my music either when walking or in the car this therefore is when I do my ratings. I usually listen to music via my genre play lists, current list being 'Soundtracks'.

Every time I add new music it goes into the Apple default play list 'Recently Added' where I tweak the Info including Genre's but not the Rating. I then have a Smart List 'Recently Added in Last 12 Weeks' which I listen to later on and during this period is when I rate the music 5 Stars and +/- 'Love this tune'. I then go back to my current Genre list.

I also tweak my playlists whilst listening via siri;

Hey Siri, add this song to my <playlist> playlist (Note, does not work on a Mac)

The 'Love Tunes' play list is the next rating up from 5 Stars and is reserved for my MOST loved music. Needles to say it is a lot smaller list than my 5 Star list. This list usually gets played as back ground music during house get together's.

PS: here is some good info on Music 'Hey Siri' commands:

Hey Siri, Play Some Music: All the Music Commands (and more …)
