I have just bought this iPhone 3g 3 days ago. And I found so many problems. This time is the screen. I dont use screen protector. The screen is very sticky. So it is hard for me to swipe or pan on the screen, making the whole experience very poor and whole device unusable. I'm happy that I can jailbreak it and enjoy the freedom hence the free apps. But the disadvantages overwhelm its advantages. Poor wifi speed, which makes YouTube and all streaming video unusable. Slow processor makes live tv unwatchable. Battery life is acceptable, better than iPod touch. Has anybody experience the sticky screen on the iPhone 3g? I use belkin rubber case sold at vodafone store. Is that the culprit? Because the rubber case's surface is sticky, so that makes the iphone screen sticky. Or anybody has any idea how to make my iPhone screen more smooth to use?
If you happen to have some CRC silicon spray in your garage (and you should have, the stuff is fantastic!), spray a _tiny_ amount onto a soft cloth and polish the touch-screen area with it. It'll make the screen more slippery than a greased eel.
Be careful, because it's nigh impossible to get that stuff off any other surface once it gets on there!
Sounds like some kind of weird problem! I hate to ask the obvious/rude question, but have you tried washing your hands? :S As for your other problems, youtube on wifi is definitely bad, hopefully it gets fixed sometime :) Dunno what your talking about for the live tv, how are you getting it? The proc seems plenty fast for watching video in my uses. Jailbreaking is cool, but stealing apps isn't, hopefully your talking about the free jailbreak apps and not stolen app store ones :D
After the second time jailbreaking my iPhone, it couldn't function after a while. After the third time jailbreaking it, it couldn't get past the startup apple logo screen and was bricked. I had a very hard time with it at the beginning. Now I use a belkin screen protector on it, and the screen is very very smooth to use! Live tv. You need to install tvuplayer from app store, but mainly for Chinese user like me :) . I don't know any other way to get live tv. But anyway, wifi is very slow, don't even think that it will stream tv. The download speed is about 200k rather than my normal 5000k which I get normally from my pc. So for now, I try to live with all the problems. And wait for the next generation iPhone.
