I have a jailbroke iPhone with 2.2 firmware on it and I have Assassin's Creed that is designed for 2.2.1 firmware on my computer (from Appulous). I know that it will still work on 2.2 but iTunes won't let sync it onto my phone because "I need newer firmware" . Is there another way to put it on?

The Cydia App FWchanger, I heard, is quite dodgy and can screw up your phone.

Upgrade to 2.2.1 via itunes and then jailbreak again.. pretty simple..

Yeah. But that involves re installing all the jailbroken apps.

There is software available via Cydia to backup your Cydia sourced apps so that they can be reinstalled after jailbreaking again. More info here:
