Just read the release details on iPhone 3G S and as I expected it was a minor hardware upgrade.  I'm interested to see what other people think, heres my view.

3MP camera with video and AF,AE,AWB etc.  (I already have a digital camera for all this, as much as it is convinient on a phone it is never make or break for me)

More battery life, up 50%.  (about time YAY!)

Digital compass?! ( 1) many gps maps do this anyway.  2) A great deal of people don't know how to use a compass peoperly anyway 3) you can buy one from an out doors store for $20 and it wont drain your battery)

The new prices and 32GB model are great but only time will tell how much of this filters through to NZ and at what price.

Hoplefully telecom release some details in the next few days/weeks about their intentions with the iPhone.

I my opinion the new iPhone boasts a few new features that will be great for people purchasing their first iPhone but I don't believe it would justify an upgrade for most people.

What does everyone else think?

P.S.  I wonder if you get an old battery or a new high capacity battery when ordering a replacement for your iPhone
