Just waiting to see if anyone has updated to 3.0 and unlocked as yet. I know the activation server is currently down so I'm guessing not. From reading what the dev team say I should be able to use the current version of quickpwn?

This link points out that you must use pwange to unlock you phone or you will lose the unlock.... this is all I could find that is semi official so far

Just did my iPhone 2G this morning and am successfully running 3.0 software. I just updated via itunes twice, first update for the OS, the second for the carrier update. My phone was originally hacked via pwnage tool, NOT quickpwn and my pervious OS was 2.2.1. I have noticed that the 3.0 has removed Cydia from my phone, as a result I have lost BossPrefs, which I used to block the Edge network whilst on Wifi. To fix this I changed my APN from .co.nz to .co.xx :)
one thing I have noticed is that the uTube App is not working, it cant find the server. Upon some Google'ing this seems to be a common problem on the 1st Gen iPhones, not sure if its an Apple side thing or a problem with the hack in general. Will wait and see if Apple release an update within the next couple of weeks to rectify this, but in the meantime, loving the speed increase on my phone, go the 3.0 software
I'm trying to use pwnage tool on my hackntosh and it doesnt recognize any of my ispw files. I've pointed it to a 2.1.1 and a new 3.0 but it doesnt like either.
Have never used the pwnage tool before and fairly new to the mac. Currently I've got the 3.0 firmware on my 2g but its locked of course.

I used my hackintosh with pwnage and ispw file 2.2.1 restored it to the phone. Took a couple of go's.
It didnt unlock it so then back on my windows machine I used quickpwn and that has unlocked it this time.
Then itunes has restored my apps, contacts etc....
Oh well guess I will have to wait till monday..
