Hi,

I have a 3GS and this morning for no explicable reason, none of the additionally loaded apps will start correctly.  you select them.. they start to open and then close immediately. All of the standard / preloaded apps work fine. Also, all of the apps were working fine yesterday.  Any ideas or suggestions?

Alexis

All of the downloaded apps? or just one in paticular.

You've obviously tried restarting your phone, yes?

If you have, then all I can suggest is to reinstall the apps.

Have you Jailbroken? If so it maybe something to do with that. But it sounds like the memory is full and a reboot maybe required to free up some resources.

And between last night and this morning you didn't do anything different? Installed new applications, removed applications, etc?

Hi,

It is not jailbroken and the only thing new I've done today is add in my work Wifi network. I tried turning off Wifi and using mobile data and that made no difference. I would hope it isn't a memory full issue given how few apps I have on there.

Baring any other suggestions, I will try reinstalling the apps when I get home tonight.

Hi,

Yes I have powered off for a period and restarted.. twice.  I have found the exact problem on previous versions and it seems the solution is probably delete apps and reload or even restore the phone.

I was talking RAM (for processes not Physical for music/apps etc), sorry should have been clearer. Some Apps take up a lot of memory and when you jailbreak it *can* take more, hence the question. But if you are not Jailbroken then I am not sure. I would try uninstalling and see if it continues. If it does do a restore.

I had the same problem (only the built in apps would run) after upgrading to OS v3 (iPhone 3G, not jailbroken). Restarting the phone made no difference, but it came right the next time Sync'd the phone, so give that a go before you try anything more serious...

Hi All,

Once I deleted all of the apps off the phone and resync'd via Itunes, everything came right. Thanks for your ideas.
