Hi,

I understand how push mail theory works but in order to work shouldn't the mail servers need to support such a service ? How do u enable such a feature on my iPhone 3gs?

I think you need either a microsoft exchange account, a yahoo email account, or a mobileme account from apple to get push emails.

yup as above, i have a gmail account and exchange account that sync with my phone ... but only the exchange account can be used with push... having said that the push service does work very well on my exchange account, very little lag.
