Hi all,

I got me new shiny 32Gb iPhone 3GS yesterday and went through the process of setting it all up in itunes etc. But it is constantly crash and hanging on me. Is this normal? Just this morning it has crashed about 10 times.

I have done a full restore on it twice and seems to come right for a while then gets worse again.

As I brought from the Apple Store what are my support options? Can I take it to a Vodafone store? I would really like another one as this isn't a good start. Can I do that?

When the phone works it is great but the constant crashing is taking the shine off this. And for $1350 I expect alot more than this.

Advice anyone?

Nope its not normal. Does it crash without installing any applications? If it does then send it back in.

Right.

After spending about two hours on the phone I finally spoke to someone in Oz that was very helpful. They are going send me a replacement, but only after I send this one back. Which is kinda a bummer.

They did give me a couple of options to speed things up and arranging everything for pick up etc.

But they were very nice to talk to and very helpful. Good work Apple.

Just a shame the first one was DOA!! But I guess these things happen.

Update:

My faulty phone was shipped back to Apple in Oz on Monday this week. They arranged everything in regards to the courier etc. And as a nice surprise a knock at the door this morning was the friendly TNT man with a flash shiny new phone for me.

Great service by the Apple Online store. Restored my faith in buying equipment online.

This could have turned into another one of those..."But who's going to support me" issues, but Apple have out done themselves.

Great work and big ups to all those involved at Apple.

Thanks.

C
