Hi everyone,

My brother has sent me over an iPhone from the States. I'm wondering if anyone knows what I need to do to be able to use it on the vodafone network?
I restored the phone to get rid of his phone number which was still associated with the phone. When I insert my sim card it says that it isn't compatible. Now the phone is stuck on a never ending loop because it can't be activated without  a sim card.

It's an iPhone 3gs if that helps at all.

Any help would be kindly appreciated :)

You are stuck.. iPhone's are locked to AT&T in the States and won't work without a AT&T sim card.

If you have restored it (to say the latest 3.1.3) then you are stuck with a Paper weight.

If it is maybe an older non MC version of the iPhone 3GS then you may be able to jailbreak it with sn0wbreeze (google it)

So there is absolutely no way of unlocking it now? :(
Before restoring it, a back up was saved, can that help me at all?

Nope, Currently there is no unlock for the latest 3gs, You will have to wait until someone cracks it, or cracks 4.0 when it is released
