Hi

My wife wants an IPhone but we cant afford to buy one outright so I figure we might get one on a plan but from what I can see Vodafone and Telecom dont sell them?

Anyone know where we can get one on a plan in NZ?

Vodafone sell the iPhone. Here are their plans that go with it:

Vodafone is the only official retailer in New Zealand to get an iPhone on a plan, otherwise you are looking at buying one outright from them or Apple - but very costly..

Do you mean a Hire Purchase type plan eg pay off over 24 months or do you mean discounted on a mobile plan at $x per month for mobile service with the device at a discounted price??

I was looking for a "pay off the phone" type plan. I must admit I missed the voda iphone before.

Still its a chunk up front.

If you cannot afford one outright, better off waiting since the new iPhone is due out in July anyway. Save up some money and avoid Hire Purchases and high interest rates.

At the end of the day, the iPhone is an luxury item, not a must... but a "cool to have".

We are thinking of starting a business and the rest of the franchises use Iphones because of the syncing capabilities with outlook etc (or something like that they tell us).

So we would probably be looking to buy one, one way or another.

Indeed. Any Nokia E series has the ability to not just sync with Outlook, but with Exchange directly. Most phones (even the cheap ones) sync with Outlook - for calendar and contacts anyway.

I am curious though whether Vodafone has ever considered offering purchase options like Telecom - the retail stores can create "service orders" which charge the cost of the phone either directly onto your next bill or in 12 equal payments over a year. No interest charged at all either.
