Folks, I've posted a blog entry explaining the different 3G bands used in New Zealand and how it affects the iPad and also the iPhone 4.

In summary:

iPhone 4 3G coverage in New Zealand (Telecom, Vodafone)

iPad 3G coverage in New Zealand (Telecom, Vodafone)

iPad 3G coverage in New Zealand

Thanks for that, I know the 3G access off by heart after 2.5 years on a Vodafone 3G data and over 1 year on XT but interesting to see the iPhone 4 coverage.

Parked by Hamilton Lake in the MotorHome, getting over 600MB XT downloading The Elements for the iPad on the Mac and sharing the 3G over Airport from my Mac to the iPad for surfing.. Working well till I can get hold of a MyZone :-)

MacBook Pro ~ OSX 10.7. Lion ~ XT 3G iPad 2 ~ XT
Vodafone & CDMA mobile phones.
