Hi guys

My friend is going to China in about a week and a half and hes looking to buy 2 iPhone 4's for friends. If he planned this earlier it wouldn't be a problem now i guess but i have some questions:

When apple says it takes 2 weeks to deliver, is this the expected time or is it usually less than this? Im in Auckland if that helps at all.

Also with Vodafone's cancellation fee, 1 month charge and $500+ subsidy, its actually cheaper now to buy a 32gb iPhone 4 from Vodafone and cancel straight away rather than buy the phone from Apple plus he can have the phone straight away. So im wondering if this is actually possible and has anybody actually been there and done it before? And if so how would you go about it?

If you could give me any tips, i would appreciate it

Thanks alot.

Hi - not much help probably but I just bought one outright from Apple NZ online and it took the full 3 weeks to arrive.

They are usually pretty accurate with their estimated delivery times. I just ordered one the other day and it is showing as being delivered in exactly two weeks from the order date, however just in the last day or so the US Apple store has decreased to shipping within 24 hours, so who knows if other areas in the world are going to move to that timeframe soon or not.

At this stage I would say that two weeks is a worst case scenario.

Some stores maybe but they shouldn't because the margin on a non contract iphone sale wouldn't buy you breakfast and coffee.  (They only really make a margin when they sign a contract)

Well thats what my local Noels store told me a few weeks back.

I bought an iPhone on day 1 (16Gb) and soon realised I'd need a 32 Gb so I cancelled the 16Gb and sold it. No problem at all.
