Well, the new update is out!

Installed fine on my iPhone 4, from Mac OSX 10.6.5.
About 10 minutes to download.

Not too excited about the new text message sounds, but great they are finally adding more! (How about a normal 'beep' Apple?)

First sync after update turned the usage bar orange (my iPhone was full of 'other' data) but another sync fixed that without having to copy over all the music/photos/videos again.

Am updating my AppleTV2 now, going to test out Airplay soon!

List of new features here:
http://gigaom.com/apple/ios-4-2-is-here-this-is-what-you-get/

Hows the update going for everyone else?

+1, I too will hold off for at least a day or two, see if any issues crop up.

Cant wait for Multitasking and Folders!

Go and sit in the corner and think about your actions! A good geek should want to discover the bugs himself ;-)

Only Apple could make a patch into a life changing event. Seriously, get over yourselves:

Steve Jobs, Apple’s CEO, said in a press release: “iOS 4.2 makes the iPad a completely new product, just in time for the holiday season.”

Don't quote it then, I don't take notice of that sort of comment and maybe you shouldn't get worked up about it either.

Hey, I call BS! There's no "posted from my iPad" at the bottom. ;-)

[How big is the update BTW? I'm guessing ~500MB?]

been using the GM release on my ipad/iphone for about a week, ipad has some wireless issues where it drops out, iphone is fine.

dont think you need to wait a week, since must of the issues should have been found/fixed already, like the wifi issue.

folders and multitasking is amazing, its like my ipad is a new device!

Not a bad guess. iPad 551MB, iPhone 3GS 401MB and iPhone 4 624MB.

A big difference between the 3GS and 4 which is a bit of a surprise.
