Hi, I have a 3G Ipod Touch which is running on software 4.2.1. It's been jailbroken by green poison. I have a problem with Cydia, It shows the Cydia Icon (the box) and cydia starts and loads. But when I try to add a source, it exits Cydia doesn't crash and it doesnt load. Also when I am using the search feature, nothing shows and same goes with the sections and changes. Everything shows up on the Cydia home and looks fine.

What happens if you jailbreak with snowbreeze or redsnow? cant remeber if the 3g touch is supported with green poison

Well I have never tried snow breeze but I have tried RedSnow. With Redsnow I jailbroke it but the cydia icon was white and it would crash when I tried to open it. So then I discovered that it must be tethered for cydia to work and be displayed normally. So I did a boot tether with redsnow and what happened this time was that my ipod would get stuck on the pineapple icon and it wouldnt reboot itself thus not completing the boot tether. So I then decided to try green poison and cydia worked but i can't add sources or search .... so plainy it opens but doesnt work.

Perfect thank you so much. I solved the problem. All I did was left it jailbroken on green poision ( green poison boot) and I started red snow. From there all I did was install cydia with red snow while I left it on green poison jailbreak.Red snow never installed thew boot, just Cydia. That way its unteterhed and red snow installed cydia. Thanks Once Again. :)
