The silver part of the POWER BUTTON on my 3GS has fallen off.

The button itself still works but I have to use a fingernail to press it.

I can buy a replacement for the whole button on TradeMe for $6 but this will require me to take the phone apart and mess with wires which seems like a nightmare.

So...does anyone know if you can buy just the SILVER part which I could glue on.

Or...should I buy the whole switch and have crack at fixing it myself?

Has any done this operation before?

Take a look at http://www.ifixit.com/Browse/iPhone for info. It's a one stop shop because they have tutorials but also sell the tools and parts.
