My iPhone 4S shows the carrier as Telecom NZ 11.1  but the iPad2 hows it as Carrier 11.0

Thus, 3G works fine, but cannot text/iMessage unless on Wifi.

Any thoughts how to fix this? The iPad2 settings show the Cellular Number as unknown, and it now does not show the cell number in iTunes, it used to. The microsim is newer than the iPhone, so I assume it is the same version 3

Silly me. The iPad has a different carrier version, its Apples version, as it is not a phone, so cannot text.

Although, while fiddling around, I can iMessage on 3G and wifi, but later it did not send . I also noted that the iMessages are duplicated on the iPhone 4S, and I did turn that off for a while, so I will run some tests tonight. Using 3G or wifi and with iPhone 4S on and off.

I just assumed that while its not a phone, that it can text also via data, but I guess a text is a call of sorts?
