How do you get picture on tv. When plug in hdmi plug to ipad get message, this accessory is not compatiable with ipad.

No picture appears on tv. Have goggled it, problem seems wide spread, but can't see any solutions.

Have tried powering up with plug, and without and plugging in later, makes no difference.

The hdmi adapter is part no.  MC953ZM/A

In small print it has supported by ipad2, which is what i've got.
Brought it with ipad2, which is over a year ago, just got round now to trying on tv :(,

As was thinking good way to rent movies.

Yes. Still have packaging, with all labels on it and apple logo.

Tv is philips. Don't know model number, but all other hdmi devices work fine on it.

IIRC it's a bit picky about what it'll let you stream over HDMI, but you should at least be able to get _something_.

Have you updated the version of iOS on the iPad?

I have used our HDMI connector several times and been working well.

If connected successfully, you should get a mirror display.

That's where Apple TV is good.
Airplay from iPad / iPhone straight to TV.
Good value for $159.

Yesterday 2nd April. As other peoples are working i am concluding either the hdmi converter has fault or ipad does.

I got it when i brought the ipad, wished i'd tested it straight away, just took it for granted it would work.

Take the iPad and the cable, along with any packaging and/or receipts to whatever passes for an Apple store near you and they may be able to test one or both to see if they can replicate the problem. It certainly sounds like a faulty cable though.
