The ones on DX work, they just do not comply with NZ requirements for safety/isolation. Just like LED string lights sold on TradeMe (also available on DX). If/when there is a fire, there is a possibility your insurance will not pay out. They will be in their full right to refuse payout, but I have see an instance where they did pay because the customer would have had no idea the product (a decorated panel heater) did not comply on the inside wiring.
