Here it is, finally for sale. Before I hack it up and offer all the parts on TM, I thought to put it up here for a week to see if anyone's keen.

My beloved custom-built NAS has been through a few development cycles and rebuilds, and it has, in its current stage:

- Array R2 Mini-ITX NAS Case (room for 6x3.5" and 1x2.5", oversized LAN for low-noise operation -- this case alone retails for $350 on PriceSpy)
- Intel D945GCLF2 Mini-ITX motherboard with dual-core 530 Atom CPU
- 4-port SATA low-profile PCI card
- 6x (yes, SIX) 1TB drives (both Western Digital and Seagate, bought from different people and at different dates)

The OS (ubuntu) is currently installed on a USB stick, but I had started getting the items to put it on an internal CF card. It's up to the buyer if they would like to get the CF card and adapter or not.

I will wipe the OS and install FreeNAS instead, which gives the buyer a nice web interface to configure the many services available.

Looking for $450 o.n.o.

Preference will be given to local Aucklanders.

ITEM SOLD

Hey, have you listed a price, location and how much shipping would be to other parts of New Zealand? Also if you are asking for a PM make sure your Privacy settings allow your account to receive PM otherwise people can't contact you.

That's a nice build, not really interested in buying but just wondering were you using any software raid with ubuntu?

I've got my own nas running lubuntu +plex, torrentclient, smb, etc. with 2x3tb drives with zfs raidz1 but had issues in the past where updating ubuntu broke zfs.

Yes. Played around with LVM, mdadm and ZFS. It's currently running ZFS, but very stable.
