Hoping someone could give me an idea on what this not too old server...might be worth.

Intel® Server Board S5000VSASASR
2x XEON E5405
2x Cheetah ST314635655 SCSI (146GB)
LSI Logic SAS3041E SCSI Card
Windows Server 2008

I don't think it is worth much of anything (tbh). But I thought it would be best to ask those who would be more familiar with these parts. Gaming rigs and desktops is more my area....servers not so much.

Cheers

Hey, have you listed a price, location and how much shipping would be to other parts of New Zealand? Also if you are asking for a PM make sure your Privacy settings allow your account to receive PM otherwise people can't contact you.

Is that a rack mount or desktop type of box?

how old is it? looks like that mobo was out in 2006

probably somewhere around the 100-200, i have a similar one here to get rid of one day when i get around to it

ive sold quite a few decommisioned servers 4+ years old they generally don't go for much, dont think ive ever sold one above 200$ on trademe before.

Can I assume the CPU model is an E5405, and that the extra 2 is a typo?

It is in a nice (heavy) steel case, lots a room, nice amount of HD mounts too)..forgot to mention has 12 or 16GB of ddr2 in it.

It is an impressive rig..guessing it cost a pretty penny back when it was new. But I didn't think it was worth much today.

The latest this rig (I reckon) could have been put together is Q4 2010 (that's the mb and cpu's - end of life)..going by Intel's site.

Cheers

Extra 2 is typo...fixed.

Azzura: forgot to mention has 12 or 16GB of ddr2 in it.

I don't suppose that ram is non-ECC? I have 2 desktop ddr2 boards that I can't afford to replace, and wouldn't mind a bit of extra ram to go around, but I doubt whether ECC would be supported by them.
