I've accepted an offer on my house. It's conditional and if it goes through then one of the conditions is that I move out very quickly.
Because my move is international, I need to sell off most of what I have here. It's an ideal opportunity for anyone wanting furniture, appliances, and other bits and pieces.

I'm posting this as a heads-up. I will know in a week if I am moving before mid-November and will detail items then.

The items include a queen-size box spring bed, queen-size brass bed, king-size bed complete with solid rimu headboard & frame, slat base. Also sheets and pillow cases, & duvet set for that bed - never used. A king-single bed, used once, complete with all bedding (brand new, never used - sheet set, valance, duvet cover, pillow cases).
Bedside tables.
Teak corner four-door cabinet.
2 x white cane dining chairs, never used (purchased June), never been sat on.
Recliner lazyboy-style chair.
Sofa bed - used as a couch since May, never used as a bed.
Stainless steel F&P fridge.
Bosch front-loader washing machine still under warranty.
Round occasional table.
Electronics, small appliances, microwave, vacuum (still under warranty), heater, ladder, pots, mops and pretty much anything else that makes a home. Dog motel with run & cover (never used but was stored outside for a time - dog wouldn't use it), dog crates... loads of stuff that is giving me nightmares now that I realise how much there is!

If you are after anything in particular, ask me if I have it. If you are in the market for some stuff, keep an eye out. I will know next Friday and must sell within 12 days after. There will be bargains!

Hey, have you listed a price, location and how much shipping would be to other parts of New Zealand? Also if you are asking for a PM make sure your Privacy settings allow your account to receive PM otherwise people can't contact you. Also note if you are selling something we ask you to offer to other members first. Links to private sales (including Trade Me posts) aren't accepted anymore and will be removed.

Where are you moving to?

Im back in the Manawatu, after having moved down to Wellington, Christchurch then Aussie and back.

Obviously its a great time for a clean out, but I have found that it was better to get a container and fill it than sell and rebuy your household stuff at the new location.
I found while Crown was the most expensive, they were the best and the easiest to deal with.

Still have same waching machine and fridge from 14 years ago (F+P)

I got sick of rebuying stuff that I already had as it always cost a heap to replace.

I notice that you dont have a TV listed, If moving country with your TV, just make sure that it will be compatible with where you are moving to (Not relevant if you are going to be using a set-top box)
First time I took my TV to Aussie, it used NiCAM stereo in TV, but in Aussie the stereo signal was FM based, so it would only work in Mono

Good Luck with your move etc.

Yogi02: Where are you moving to?

Canada. Apart from the personal items that are going in my suitcase, everything else must be sold/donated. There is no shipping to Canada's east coast, which is where I'm headed, and the cost of sending it to Vancouver then by rail across the entire width of Canada is way too high. It's going to be a huge loss of money but there's no other realistic option.

I have a 42" Sony Bravia TV with stand. It's not digital but since I have Sky that's not an issue for me. Unfortunately, I realised too late that the TV would work perfectly in Canada (with a set-top box for digital content) so I need to find a good home for that too.

It's all on. I move in just over two weeks and have a household to sell up.
I'm not going to fill the forum with lists of stuff so if you are looking to buy anything please just ask if I have it.
Cheers.

Might be interested in a couple things smile

How old where all of the beds and what were mattresses like on each of them?
Would love a quick pic of each if possible, just an average-crappy photo is fine so I have an idea. Also if possible a picture of the sofa-bed too would be great.

Any chance of getting a quick list off the top of your head on the electronics you had too? Ideally the entertainment/computer stuff.

Thanks heaps!

The King Single is about 12 years old but has only been used for a couple of nights in total. It's been in a guest room and probably should have been sold a long time ago since we never really used it. It's in excellent condition. The mattress has always been covered with a protector.

The Queen-sized brass bed and mattress is a similar age. The brass bed itself is like new and cost $1500 when I bought it. Solid brass with green epoxy. I've still got the original manufacturers tag for it but although it has a lifetime warranty the NZ company that made it was sold off a few years back and the Australian company that bought it won't honour warranties.
The queen mattress is clean and tidy with no marks or lumps.

The King-sized bed is approximately seven years old. The bed frame is solid rimu with slats underneath. NZ made and in excellent condition.
The mattress is a no-turn white pillow-topped latex. It's in great condition. It has also always had a protector on it.

I will strip the beds and take photos to show you but you should never buy mattresses without checking them out for yourself.

I notice that the house listing is still online. Almost every piece of furniture that you can see in the listing has to go to new homes. Have a look through the pics here and let me know if you may be interested in anything: http://stufleming.raywhite.co.nz/palmerston-north-city/palmerston-north/1200109/

In response to PM, here's the details about the fridge.

TThe fridge is a frost-free, Fisher & Paykel stainless steel. I've had it from new, for eight years. It is in excellent condition apart from a very small ding on the freezer door that was put there during an open home last week, damnit. Seals etc all good. It's very quiet but this model is known for making noise if it is on uneven floor. The feet are adjustable for levelling it. The stainless steel is coated so resists fingerprints.

Manufactured: New Zealand
Model Name: Quantam Series, ActiveSmart
Model #: E372B
Configuration: Upright
Designation: Refrigerator/Freezer
Doors: 2
First Released: 2004

Width: 635mm
Adaptive Defrost: Yes
Ice Maker: No

Compartment Gross Volume: 250, 123
Compartment Net Volume: 243, 65
Compartment Type: Fresh Food, Freezer
Fridge Freezer Volume: 250
Freezer Volume: 123

I'm looking for $250 ono on condition that it is picked up ideally on 20th November, but preferably not too many days before that. I'd kinda like to keep food cold until close to me moving out ;)

Sofa bed. Comes with the matching cushions but not the burgundy-coloured cushions. The mattress and mechanism are excellent. It's had very little use (couple of times total).

Everything listed here has gone to new homes. Geekzone doesn't have an option for giving traders smiley faces but there are a couple of people here that deserve them. You know who you are smile
