If anyone has a dead laptop, I have a friend requiring a replacement power pack/adapter for a Toshiba Portege 3480 CT .... it's got one of those funny little square connector plugs that go into the laptop.

Maybe there is an adaptor that allows the square plug to be connected to the usual round connector of a power pack?

Hey, have you listed a price, location and how much shipping would be to other parts of New Zealand? Also if you are asking for a PM make sure your Privacy settings allow your account to receive PM otherwise people can't contact you. Also note if you are selling something we ask you to offer to other members first. Links to private sales (including Trade Me posts) aren't accepted anymore and will be removed.

has your friend checked for after market power packs?  When I owned a portege a couple of years ago they were available.

Hi Mike ... yeah, I think he is doing that now but seemed to think they might be over the $60 mark, meaning cheaper to ditch the laptop (it is 15 years old afterall tongue-out)

True, but if someone offered you a complete laptop and power supply for $60 you might view that as OK.
