I have a brand new iPhone 6S for sale.  It is the 64GB model in silver.  This handset was just sent to be by Apple as a replacement for a 6S I had with batter issues.  I have not used the phone and it is still in it's clear wrapping.  The reason I am selling it is because I am about to take delivery of a work supplied iPhone 7.

The phone comes with the original box (although the serial number of the phone does not match the box given it is a replacement handset), original and unused Apple Earpods and charger, and a used original Apple data/charging cable.

Given some of the rather idealistic prices on Trademe, and taking into account that selling via GZ is a fee free transaction, I am happy to sell it for $850 including signed courier.

Please PM me if interested.  If I get no interest here then I will put it on Trademe tomorrow night.

Edit: for those people in Auckland, pickup is St Marys Bay if you'd like to inspect the phone before purchasing.

What battery issues were you having?

I was on the phone to Apple last week about 6s battery issues (turning off when taking photos) but they did a remote test and said it was fine.

Apparently its a known bug and they are working on it.

Not really happy with my 6S battery either. Occasionally gets to about 25% (seen it happen as high as ~30%) then it just dies.

So I feel like I only have 66-75% of a battery, and any time it gets low I can never be sure its not seconds away from dying.

I've tried retraining the battery, letting it totally drain & recharge over a couple of cycles, but it still happens.

Sorry to hijack your thread, good luck with the sale.

Apple tested mine over the air a couple of times and found no fault.  The issue persisted so I took it into Oobe for further testing and diagnostics.  They found a fault with the battery (and some black dots under the screen that I never noticed) and had Apple replace it with a new unit even though it was just over 13 months old.

I actually fired it up this morning as my work iPhone 7 has not been delivered yet and Spark are telling me there is a national shortage of 7's (not the plus model) which I find hard to understand as it says "Delivers: Tomorrow" on the Apple website if purchased direct.  I was phoneless otherwise as the loaner I received from a friend had to be returned as she dropped her 6S in the toilet on Saturday, then on the supermarket floor (shattering it) on Sunday.

The phone is no longer for sale as new so this thread can be closed.  Once I am finished with it (hopefully within a week) I will put it on TM as a second hand phone.

See Apple have now started a repair program for iPhone 6S units affected by unexpected shutdowns

(link)

I've just called my local Authorized Service Provider, read out my serial number, and sure enough it is an affected unit.

Its going in for a service soon. good that this happens but I feel quality has taken a slide recently.

in about the last 18 months I've had:

-iPhone camera stopped focusing - announced recall after I'd had it repaired under warranty.

-iPhone 6S's with dark areas at the top of the screen (purchased 5x through work that show this to varying degrees) - Apple authorized a warranty repair, although I haven't followed through because its a work phone and not a big deal.

-And now the unexpected shutdowns on my work iPhone 6S

Prior to that I've had a Macbook Air that had different keys that get 'stuck'. (Seems like something is rolling around under the keys that jams them, becomes lose, then rolls under another key). They tried to blame me for damaging it. Then it went for warranty repair, but the issue persists.

I generally like the products, but the quality seems to be poor, and I'm finding it hard to justify the 'rising' prices.

For anyone interested (or for future reference) I sold this slightly used (1 week of use) 6S for $840 on Trademe.
