Having just discovered that the property I've moved into is only wired for Vodafone and has no Chorus copper, I can no longer use DSL as an interim until UFB gets installed.

Anyone got a Skinny Broadband modem for sale?

Remember these modems are geolocked. buying one third party you will need to have it activated.

Your likely better off just straight up ordering from skinny.

the modem is not..... the simcard that you put inside is.

I have a modem as i moved to a place with cable.

I was about to put it on trademe.

if you want to you could buy it of me and if it does not work you get your money back although i am 99 % sure it will work if you get the simcard from skinny

You just get the modem and contact Skinny to have the account geo-unlocked - might have to create a new account seeing the current key is your email address...

Also, might want to send a PM to @LivingSkinny asking how this works...

I did check the Skinny website, and you can use a second hand modem.

My friend is going overseas and has given me their Skinny 4G modem. Can I use their modem?

Yes you can so long as you are in a Skinny 40GB or 100GB Broadband coverage area (check at skinny.co.nz/broadband). Just make sure your friend has contacted Skinny to close their Skinny Broadband account first (and unlinked it from their Skinny Mobile account if they have linked the two accounts). You can then register your own Skinny Broadband account with your own payment details. You must call us to let us know your address and VOILA - you're good to go.

I might have one available. Its currently in use, but might be redundant in the next couple of weeks, if you can wait that long.

I've successfully terminated these, and used them again on another account. You just call skinny and re-register them.
