Hi there,

My internet is playing up, and before I call out a technician I need to see if my modem/router is causing the issue.
(I have done some trouble shooting)

Does anyone in the Howick, botany, Pakuranga area etc have a modem router combo that I can borrow for 10 mins?

I Don't mind paying for the loan etc.

Thanks
Andy

I have a fairly new Netgear d6400, and doubt it's that, but need to rule out out cos can't afford the technical call out fee if I'm in the wrong.

Thanks

I know I it's a bit off topic but can someone quickly explain what the below means?

I know how do to a isolated speed test, already done it, but what/how do
I do a speed test to the websites listed below (no option is there)? Bit confused sorry!

Our support team is working on your issue, and has the following update or question for you:
Can you please do some speed tests for us. And please do these in isolation as well. So by isolation we mean to have a cable plugged directly into the router from your computer or laptop that has a gigabit network interface. The hardware on the PC you are testing from must also be up to date. If it is out of date, then this may also affect the results. Make sure all other devices are not connected, either by cable or WiFi. Then do a speed test to the destinations listed below. You can either grab a screen shot of each result or just write next to each the latency, up and download results.

Please confirm with make and model that you used.

Use http://speedtest.net/

Auckland 2Degrees
Auckland Spark
Auckland Vocus
Sydney Telstra

Send through your results and we will further investigate. We will also run a 24 line analyser to further investigate the line.

On the speedtest site there is an option to change server. Vocus, vodafone etc servers will be options.

It can sometime be little difficult to find the option to change servers. Depends which version of speedtest you are on. HTML5 or FLASH

You can choose different servers on the Speedtest website - that is what they are asking you to do.

Hover over the dot in the location you want to test, and the options for that location pop out (this is on the non-beta speedtest site):

Oh it's the server! They should have said server, or I'm just really dumb haha.

Thanks very much!
