"need something I can just fire up and run without too much messing around"

Then why use a Raspberry Pi in the first place?

You should do some research -

1) The Raspberry Pi is USB powered (MicroUSB to be precise).
2) There will be messing around - installing the OS etc. This is all on you.
3) An SD card is required also.

Nobody is going to send you a preconfigured Raspberry Pi. You'll need to set this up but it is good practice on Linux.

Good that its USB power supply! Didnt see that, will make things easier where I need to install it

I dont mind installing the OS, was expecting to do that, also knew it does need an SD card

It needs to be a good USB power supply. The ones apple supply with phones have intentional voltage sag as they reach their current limit so are useless for powering pi's.

Cheers, I may be able to power it off one of the USB ports on the NVR which would be helpful as I have limited power outlets
