Hi,

The 7240 I had for my sons school laptop had an unfortunate accident thanks to another son and now requires a new screen. Does anyone have anything before I go to eBay?

Is this the touch screen model?

Have had a dig and don't have one here, PBTech do have both the 30pin and 40pin variants of what I think is the non touch panel in stock. Would be worth removing yours and confirming the mounting tabs are correct and if it's 30pin or 40pin. I think those are 30pin.

If it's the touch one, you need the whole assembly, which is not cheap.

That sounds promising - I’ve actually just checked and my memory was faulty - it’s actually a 7240. Will check with PB too.

Right, well either way once you've sorted the memory out, pull the panel out and check the mounting tabs and connector on the panel. Good chance it's still one of those two panels. I think the 7240 and 7250 were very similar.

PB Tech have decent pricing on the panels, as long as they have stock of the one you need. Getting them off eBay is a bit sketchy as they are easily damaged in freight, and you often don't actually save a lot once it's all said and done. And at least with PB Tech if for some reason it's not the right panel, or doesn't work you can always return it.
