Hi there,

I have a MacBook Pro 15" (Retina, Mid 2012) that we're no longer using, so time for it to go to a new home.

Specs:

CPU: 2.3GHz Intel Core i7

RAM: 8GB

GPU: Intel HD Graphics 4000 1536MB

HDD: 1TB SSD (Upgraded Transcend JetDrive 725 - https://www.transcend-info.com/Products/No-673)

Currently running macOS Mojave.

Has general wear and tear associated with a 6 year old device, but nothing that effects the use of the laptop, eg no screen damage etc. It's missing some of the plastic feet on the bottom, which if needed I can order replacements.

Great laptop which has served us well, but has been replaced by a new MacBook Air.

Looking for around $650 - $700 (The SSD alone cost me $1000 when I upgraded it)

Hmm, tempting if even just to upgrade the storage on my one! Do you have any photos of the condition and where are you located?

I'm in Wellington, but I'm happy to package it up and send it.

It looks like you can upgrade the RAM in this model, but not 100% sure. I've never had any issues with it running out of RAM tbh. I think this model was one of the last that you can upgrade anything!! Certainly know the new one I have you can't upgrade anything :-(

Can confirm RAM upgrade, I just did it to a 17” version with matching DDR 3 12800 sticks. Forget the factory FUD about special Mac RAM, it’s a computer, it takes RAM. Like that. The upgrade is hugely rewarding, I upgraded the RAM as a pre-sale action, the client having had it since new but no longer using it because of sluggish performance.

PB provided a 500GB Samsung 860 Evo for $109 & my spare parts bin had the matching 8GB RAM. My client was so impressed by the improved performance that he decided to retain it. He bought it new & 7 years later is happily using it as his daily again.

The 15” MBP here is not Retina though, it may have the upgraded FHD panel instead of standard 1440x900, but the 15” Retina display (2880 x 1800) wasn’t yet available.

Megabyte - so geek it megahertz

Yes this is a Retina version. It is the non cd-rom version and comes with the Retina display.

(Sorry for it being blurry, didn't want to include the serial)

Please check your facts before posting things, makes it hard to sell items when people post the wrong information!!

Just wanted to confirm the RAM is NOT upgradable on this model, so 8GB it is.

Thanks for the PM confirming the correct info.
