Anyone got one of these I can borrow for an hour or so? I want to get Home Assistant on to my new NVMe drive but the Linux DD method is not working so I want to try burning the image with Etcher. Don't want to spend $70 for a one-off use/test.

Happy to pay for shipping in both directions of course.

Sorted. I purchased a PCIe adapter card instead as they were much cheaper.

Only saw this now. I have one but I find it terribly unreliable with any drive in it, samsung, the kingspec crap one off aliex, and a sandisk all drop off and need an unplug/replug all the time. Perhaps the vendor was cheap with the number of capacitors they used, but the complaints about the ASM2362  doing the same things make me think its a chipset thing. I took 4 goes just to be able to clone a drive on my USB case for it. Probably a good thing that you got the PCIe one since mine has been faultless holding a boot drive in a couple of crappy old systems.

Thanks for the tip. Someone on the HA forums said they got the same error as me when using Etcher to burn the Home Assistant 2.12 NUC image so I'm not holding out much hope.

Out of curiosity Rich, which drive did you have in it? I heard the Samsung EVO Plus models are hugely problematic.
