Potentially interested in the NUC. What are your comparisons to the Odroid C1 (I bought that off you :-) - I believe it was your previous HA box? Are you running Hassio on the NUC? Does this also support one standard 2.5" HD (the spec page says 1 internal drive, but I'm not sure if that means just the mSATA). Finally, how big physically is the PSU? Thanks

Edit: only looking to move from the C1 to x86 infrastructure because some add-ons I want to use don't play nicely with the C1.

Hi,

It probably out-performs the Odroids and is more compatible with add-ons as you've found. The unit can only take 1 x mSATA card not a HDD. Power supply is a standard 19v laptop brick. And yes, I'm running Hassio direct on the mSATA. I went from Pi, to Odroid to this and now to another i3 NUC but with NVMe support. N.B The unit has 1 x 8GB RAM stick with one slot free.

@xbmcnut

NUC still for sale? My Raspberry Pi running Hassio has just p00ped itself (again) and I think it is time for something more robust.

We've never even seen a robovac in the flesh before, but this little beastie has impressed us both.  We've had it tun through the 3 bedroom house once a day for the last three days (actually, SWIMBO set it off a second time the first day, just because she could!), during which the kids were away so the place stayed pretty tidy anyway.

Impressive bits:

- Battery seems pretty good....  it *just* does the whole house.

- Navigation - The charger is in one corner of the house in the lounge, and its made its way into all three bedrooms and the bathroom in the opposite corner of the house and up a short hallway with no dramas.

Amusing bits:

- It came out rather dusty after squeezing under my bed, where no vacuum has gone in a very long time.

- It struggles with the open front door....  I guess the LIDAR sees the open space but thankfully the small doorstep stopped it wandering outside, even though it wasn't high enough to trigger the bumper.  It keot trying to go out the door until I touched the bumper and it moved back far enough that I could close the door.

- It managed to nudge a bedroom door closed and got stranded as a result, seemingly until the battery died.

Annoying bits:

- Occasionally when it bumps over the bar from the carpet to the wooden floor, it stops and complains the dust bin needs to be re-installed.  A minor issue that I'll take a look at one day.

- Having to cut hair from the rollers occasionally.  Might just give the kids all buzz-cuts to knock this on the head.  :)

@xbmcnut my Mrs is really impressed with the Neato, thank you, so I call that a win!
