Excellent 4K monitor, although they do sometimes develop pink glowing corners when used in hot rooms.

Charges your Mac at 60W at the same time as using it as a display. Retina-level resolution.

Not an issue though - LG will replace the panel as this is a known issue.

I currently have this unit while the wife has a Samsung 34" Ultrawide monitor. The LG is my preferred monitor due to it's pixel density.

Funny, we're on the same upgrade cycle.  I'm just about to offload the Dell I bought from you a few years back 😂

How does the resolution "work" on this on MacOS?

I have an LG Ultrafine (original) which is 21.5" at 4k which I run at "more space" which is 1440p resolution at retina. With 27" at 4k what settings does MacOS give you and do you know what resolution the "more space" option is?

These ultrafine displays are retina so you can choose the 'space', if you hold CTRL while clicking on "Scaled" in the display preferences, you will be able to see what the resolution is.

I'm aware of that, and also aware of the varying definition of "retina", so not looking to get into that debate. But I don't (yet!) have a 27" 4K monitor, so I'm not sure what the options are. I am trying to work out how 27"/4K/"more space" will look, compared to my existing setups. The PPI is less but I am not sure the real world impact.

Default is 1080p

next in order of less to more space are:

2560x1440

3008x1692

3360x1890

3840x2160

I personally run at 3008x1692 which seems to match the MacBook Pro "more space" option

These are a great display, i've got the slightly newer version. New owner won't be disappointed.
