Hey all,

So I have a Samsung TV that has suffered some damage and now sometimes turns on and sometimes doesn't, and has bleeding in the top left where the panel has cracked.  I did have it running for a while as a PC monitor (wow, 55" monitor is just AMAZING) even with the damage it was usable.  However obviously selling as is.

I have spoken to Philips Electronics (Auckland) a couple of times about this and they are happy to have a look and try to get it going, but I am moving house, so decided to move on (too many other projects as well).

I have most of the original box (some of it was used for packing, sorry).

Buyer must pickup TV and the box.  I am in Ellerslie.

Can I suggest posting a photo of the TV showing the fault?

Bear in mind that a crack in an LCD will spread with flexing of the screen, so transporting it is risky...

All,

Sorry, I have been trying to get a photo, but it's really hard to capture!  Anyway, here is my best attempt.  I really would like to see this go to someone as a project rather than it ending up in landfill

I do have most of the packaging, like the foam that goes around the TV.  Its just part of the cardboard box that is missing.

Nice!

If nobody else want it, I'll take it.  Please give others a couple of days first to jump in.

That's why sheet glass should always be transported in an upright (vertical) position never laid flat.

@OP also interested...hopefully just needs a replacement screen?

This is still available.  Had a couple of people interested but they both wanted a working set.  Just to clarify, this set sometimes works, but I cannot guarantee that it will work after transporting it.  @K8Toledo - it's your if you want it.  Ideally would like this gone this weekend, and I would HATE to see it go to landfill.
